Interstate bounce?

Just made first trip home with a Laredo 24' TT with a curt wd hitch. Pulling it with a 2013 Ford 150 and felt quite a bit of bouncing up & down in certain parts of the trip. I assume this is a road surface condition and not a set up problem, but am looking for some help as I am new to the RV scene. I have had this on other types of trailers when the tongue weight is to low. Help!!

I can't comment on your set up but the bouncing or porpoising you feel may well be due to the road surface. On some highways, especially concrete ones with expansion joints running across the road, you may encounter this bouncing. If this porpoising disappears when you are on other types of road surfaces, then your set up may be ok.

I've noticed this same problem when travelling with our 5th wheel on some stretches of concrete highways.

Perhaps others who have more knowledge than I do about TT's and their hitch set ups will chime in and offer some suggestions.

I had similar problems with my 24 ft Laredo after leaving dealership. I sent you a private message on this. Let me know if you received it.

Try slowing down or speeding up a little bit when you hit those "jumpy" stretches. It usually works for me. Sometimes it seems that at a certain speed the wheels of the TV and the TT are going up and down opposite of each other and increasing the normal movement of the suspensions. Give it a try and see how it works for you. Drive safely.

The ride may change once all is loaded for camping. You also may find the WD hitch may need readjustment as well once loaded. I would load it, see how TV and TT sit (level).

our 30' TT porpoises somewhat more when the (front mounted) fresh water tank is empty.

Could be the road conditions or you are too light on the tongue weight.
