Lake Billy Chinook!

We are trying a new campground over on Lake Billy Chinook in Eastern Oregon.
We are staying at the Deschutes campground down in the canyon and kayaking to try to keep cool in the 100+ degree weather.
This is the first time I will have to back into a camping spot with our trailer so I'm praying to the camping gods to be kind! (I've gotten lucky and only used pull-thru spots so far...)
My DH will be heading over sometime since he's riding his motorcycle. We'll try to hook up around the time I get to the campground so he can help guide me in but if he's not there, I'll just get it done slowly and surely!!.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July.
I'll post pictures during our stay!
Happy Camping!!

It has been years since we camped there. Would go with a large group of people every year and had a great time on the water. My wife would normally go down a day early with the trailer. She was not real experienced backing and would often ask one of the experienced campers if they would back it in for her.

Have fun

I remember as a kid we would go down there for picnics. I grew up in Madras. Of course when we went it was before the damn was there. You think it's beautiful now, it was unbelievable then. We were sorry to see those camps go underwater.

Julie and Don - anxious to hear how the kayaking, camping, (and bugs) are at L Billy Chinook. We want to take a trip to Eastern Oregon before winter weather hits and we can't get over the passes. Have never been there, but we have friends who used to camp and fish there alot.

Hope you have a great trip.
