AC vendor tag
My Passport had the floor replaced by Keystone about a year ago. When I got it back there were all kinds of new issues caused by the repairs. One of them was the AC didn’t work. I spoke with Keystone and they approved a mobile technician to come to my home to do the repairs since I was tired of bringing it to a local dealer. I know the dealer was also tired of my situation. Anyway, the ac was fixed and now I’ve been fighting with Keystone to get reimbursed. They are finally cooperating with me, but are now asking for the vender tag off the ac unit. They are telling me that it is under the shroud on the roof. The repairs done to the ac were all done on the inside and no work was done on the roof, which I’ve explained to Keystone, but they are saying that all repairs require the vendor tag so the manufacture can keep track of what has been done on that particular appliance. I feel like this is really unnecessary and inconvenient. Especially since it is winter and my RV has a cover on it which I do not want to take off. Not to mention the ice and snow on the roof right now. Even if it weren’t winter, this is pretty inconvenient.
Anyway, the ridiculousness of the situation aside, can anyone confirm that if I end up getting on the roof in winter and taking the shroud off, will the vendor tag be there somewhere? I don’t want to take the cover off and then the shroud and find that it’s not there.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you take the ceiling assembly off the mfg and ser number are on the frame, on the return side ( front).

Are you talking about the serial number on the control board? I sent that back to Keystone. So I doubt that’s what they are asking for.

No. There should be a tag With the model/ product number and the serial number, attached to the AC. It will be in the same area as the control board, but attached to the frame of the AC.

Maybe the mod/ser # sticker (vendor plate) on the rooftop has more info ..this was from an ebay listing…don’t remove it just take a good clear picture of it …..you could put a piece of mail in the picture alongside it with your name an address to prove it’s yours
Hers an example …note it has a product number and sku number which may be what they are looking for besides just the mod /ser

I already took the cover off on the inside and looked around and took some pictures. I didn’t see anything on the inside.
Those pictures from eBay are promising. I guess I’ll have to take the shroud off when it warms up a bit and I can peel back the cover enough to get the the ac unit.

If, by "took the cover off on the inside" you mean that you removed the filter and looked inside, then you were looking in the "hot air return". There is a insulated board divider between the hot air return and the cold air discharge side of that opening. You can NOT see the information tag because of the insulated divider.
You will need to remove the entire "inside ceiling unit" which has either 4 or 6 screws, some "fairly well hidden behind removeable tabs". Once you have the entire "inside ceiling unit" removed, you will have access to the "cold air discharge side of the top unit". The information tag is located on the aft vertical wall of the cold air discharge. Take a photo of it and all the information you need is on that tag: Part number, model number, serial number, date of manufacture, series numbers, electrical information, freon charge information, everything is on that tag....

No, I definitely did what you’re saying. I took the cover off and took some pictures. I didn’t see any tags or areas where there might be tags. Here’s a couple pictures of the ac with the cover off from the inside. I’m not sure if I’m missing something.

Take off the 4 screws holding that plate. You'll find it underneath that on the AC frame. You may need to replace the tape.

How much torque or tension do you put on those screws? Is it a crushable foam gasket ? When reinstalling?

^^^ What he said. It's under that plate. Be careful and you can reuse most of the existing tape. You can use "QUALITY" aluminum duct tape (the kind with the peel off paper backing that covers the adhesive) for what's damaged.
When you reinstall the plate, don't overtorque the screws.

We usually make the foam gasket 1/2 its original thickness. In this case you want to get them snug and then another turn

Here’s an update. I tried removing the 4 long screws to get under that plate, but I found nothing once I got it off. Maybe it’s different for some models. Pics attached so you can see what I’m talking about.
So I decided to take my winter cover off just enough to get to the ac on the roof. Luckily I noticed the vendor tag through the vents in the shroud, so I was able to get my phone’s camera lens in there to get a few clear pics. So I didn’t have to take the shroud off. Now to send the pics to Keystone.
Thanks again for the suggestions and help.
