Yes! And here's pictures of one of those grassy CGs we stayed at in Iron Mountain.

Later we took a 10 day rest stop at the Grand Forks AFB CG entering ND but that's a story for another time.

Sarasota
User Name: jlsx2 – Listed home as Sarasota, FL.
We lived in FL for 23 years. Most of our traveling south of Tampa/St. Pete was done before we started traveling with an RV trailer. Actually its just a little too warm in the summer and we head north. Miami is just too huge and Key West has always been a disappointment. I traveled there quite often while in the Navy. However, I did take the family there to see for themselves. Going to the southern end of the USA was a thrill for our boys. I like fishing the Okeechobee in the fall when the big crappy are plentiful.
Going north from Sarasota we have parked at Lady Lake. We have friends that live there and right at the back entrance to their retirement community is the Blue Parrot RV Resort. Their residential sites are very nice. RV parking is FHU but sparse.

Usually when traveling in TN we travel the I40 corridor back and forth across the state, veering off for special interests. However we have stayed at a lot of RV Parks/CGs near that corridor.
One year we were early heading west and decided to spend some time in TN. In our researching we found Natchez Trace State Park. What a wonderful park. It offers all sorts of amenities just not found in other National or State parks. More than one lake to be near, more than one CG to choose from. There is a restaurant on the property. There is horseback riding, hiking; you’ll just have to read the link below to gather-in all the adventures offered there.
We spent two weeks there on one of the largest individual FHU sites we have ever been offered. When we stayed there, the CG receipt acted as our fishing license and we could go fishing anywhere in the park grounds with it.

We stayed in the Pin Oak CG. It’s near two lakes and both have boat launching facilities.

Ahhh, Houston, we’ve been there a few times. The most important thing we found out is how to travel thru the city in minimal traffic flow; US59 on a Sunday morning between 11:00 – 11:59 AM.

We have traveled the up state but mostly along the St. Lawrence River from Buffalo to VT. We stayed at a number of RV Parks/CGs in that area. Probably the most impressive was Coles Creek State Park, where we had a huge site right on the water.

One year on our way north from FL we traveled right up thru the center of IN using rural, state and US highways.
We found this wonderfully appointed campground near New Castle. It’s the family owned Walnut Ridge Campground. Its owner managed and they live right across the road in a large farmhouse. They also had a RV dealership on their farmland.
We only spent four days there because all they had available when we got there was water and electric sites. But that was enough time to explore most of the surrounding area.
If you look closely in the areal U-tube in the CG link, you will see our black truck parked just at the left of the green roof.

Our family has visited just about all of the attractions in your part of SD. The last time we were there we spent 10 Days at the Ellsworth AFB FAMCAMP.
We took-up boat & train rides in the latter years of our RV traveling. The 1880s train ride from Keystone to Hill City and return was very enjoyable with live entertainment and a nice lunch stop at Hill City before returning to Keystone.

We live in Taylors and travel south on I26/I95 or US25. When going down 26/95 we travel half way to Walterboro and spend the night at the New Green Acres RV Park. It’s an Easy in and out at exit 53. Park has large pull thru FHU sites with 50 AMPS and a good cable system which they need as they are under those tall skinny pine trees seen more often in Florida. When leaving there is two easy to use full service fuel stations with diesel.
