Screw for water valve

Does anyone know the size and type screw that holds the water valve in place on a Dometic 310 toilet? One of mine is missing and I have water leaking from bottom of the flush pedal.

I looked on Dometic website and my connection is so bad I can’t make any progress.

I’m camped and hardware store nearby. I don’t want to bust anything with the wrong screw.

I didn't find anything giving the size of the screw. Can you just pull the other one and get a match?

I thought of that but asking was easier 😁

It’s impossible to see back without a mirror there because it’s in corner.

And I’m gimped up this morning.

Thank you for researching it for me.

I can tell by looking at the hole that a screw has never been in it. The angle I have to approach it from doesn’t lend itself to manual dexterity, especially since I’m a lefty.

Our 310 came with no screws holding the valve in place, just the tabs on the valve. The valve eventually started coming out and I was about to buy another one when I saw it came with screws. I just used a couple a sheet metal screws to hold it in place, and that’s been a couple years ago and still working. It also helps to have a stubby screw driver to install the screws with the toilet already installed.

I looked at it with a bright light and mirror with and without the screws installed. The screws push it further into the seat I’m pretty sure it’s fixed now, time will tell. It wasn’t leaking much.

Where did you notice water when this happened?

Directly below the flush pedal, on the floor and toilet base.

Sounds very similar to my leak. I only see it with long flushes. I first noticed water near the toilet base on the right side. Then I noticed a little just below the flush pedal. It doesn't seem to be noticeable all of the time.

Dealer replaced mine under warranty. I think you can buy a new one for around 50 bucks.

I have replaced 2 cracked valves. Last time I bought a extra to have on hand. As I recall it has 2 tabs, 1 top and 1 bottom. 2 seasons ago I put in the last valve with only the top screw. No leaks yet. My thinking is since the screws seat into plastic I might just ruin the threads if I not careful. Now I have a extra threaded hole to use incase that happens.

The screw slowed it down, but it still seeped occasionally. The trailer is still at the dealer getting warranty work, so the jury is still out on whether or not it's fixed.

Maybe the manufacturer discovered that the valve is prone to cracking if both screws are installed and made it a practice to use one screw.
