2008 Keystone Laredo 315RL Front leveling jack problem

the front leveling jacks are not operating properly. They will not run electrically unless I give them a spin with the hand crank handle, then they will run in whichever direction I start them in, until I let off the switch, then they have to be started again with the hand crank.
What may be the problem, and how can I correct this.
