Fred,

If you're a Good Sam Member, they offer a mail (forwarding) service. We've never used it, but inlaws are snowbirds & have used it for several years [Indiana to TX or FL] with no issues.

Here's a previous thread which may be helpful. http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16879

for two months? have a neigbor or relative collect it and send it to you once every few weeks. they can always send it to your general delivery to the city you are in or a specific addres. i don't think it is worth it to get a mail service.

here is us post office info.

We were gone for two months and had our daughter go through it once a week and send us anything that wasn't junk. If we were on the move, we'd have her wait until we were staying put for a few days and send it there.

We just had the Post office hold it. Used on-line bill pay when we were in a secured WiFi campground. We were gone for 6 weeks, and had a HUGE stack to go through when we got home.

Our postal office wouldn't hold it for two months, only one month. We used a local UPS/Mailbox service. Did a temporary forwarding then had the service just send us the mail once in two months. They held the rest until we returned. It was a very easy way to do it for only two months. We'll do it again this summer.

Earl, please explain the "temporary forwarding" of which you spoke. That in itself might be the answer to our problem.

Our UPS Mail store closed in the middle of the night and all the mail disappeared. We lost an $800.00 check and had to have it reissued. I guess the guy that had the franchise was losing money or blew it. He just left town and threw out all the mail. I won't be using a UPS store for mail again.

I went to this area of the USPS website and I believe the temporary forwarding is the answer. It can be done online and should do the trick for us.
