Tilting an electric awning?
How do you tilt an electric awning?
Our previous camper had the pullout awning and I don't see a way to tilt this electric one.
Any suggestions?

Should have a lock knob on each arm, lock one full extension and pull the other arm in a little and lock in place. Just be sure to unlock the knobs before retracting the awning.

You can use the lock knobs to tilt. I just give it a little on the side I want the water to go to, then the "dump" function takes care of the rest if water starts to build up on the awning.

If you lock the arm does the auto dump still work?

I have the knobs on mine but if it gets too windy or I know it's going to rain I close it.

awning
on my 2008 Everest, a knob did not come on the awning to tilt it. the dealer said he could order the part, and that it was free from the manufactor. real easy to install. hope this helps.

Yours is different than mine. This is the one we have....... http://www.americanrvcompany.com/Dom...FbBAMgodzlgAKw......, but doesn't appear to have the lock knobs. Yes ours will dump when tilted and locked.

Look in this area. There will be a silver button. You push in the button and slide the arm. You can do this on each end. There are several holes to choose from. There are also instructions on the red label. I believe it says no to have the ends more than 2 holes different. As long as you have both ends on the same hole, you can close the awning.

Got it!! thank you that was it.
Now the other question do I need to bring it to the normal position before retracting it every time?
I know both sides need to be in the same hole.

I just wrapped a bungee around the side I don't want to move and let the auto dump do it thing on the side I want it to dump. I had no locking feature at all on mine. One if the first thing the dealer told me about when going over the awning.

No just as long as the awning is level side to side. I leave mine all the way down on both sides all the time and just tilt one end when needed.
