LED lights are too bright

Does anyone have a way to modify the LED lights in my Cougar 26 RBS?
Are there replacements to purchase with a softer light? Thanks in advance!

If you've got LED ceiling fixtures with replaceable LED arrays, just buy "dimmer bulbs". If your overhead fixture LED's are not replaceable, there is a product that has "light filtering film" that's cut specifically to place over individual LED's in the fixture. You can "peel and stick" the film over 1 or 2 of the LED's in the fixture, replace the lens cover and see if they "dim the fixture enough" and add/remove more film over more LED's to get the brightness that "right for you". Here's one link on Amazon for the film: https://www.amazon.com/LightDims-Ori...EJV653W2TCYE4D

This has been my goto site for LED bulbs lately. They have quite an assortment of LED bulbs in different color ranges (brightness). https://m4products.com/

In the 26RBS, there's a dimmer switch on the slide lights, but not on the main and bedroom lights. It would be technically possible to replace the switches by the sink with two more dimmers. However, there are four issues.
  1. You'd have to dummy up a cosmetic wallplate because the dimmer almost certainly won't cover the existing hole.
  2. Unlike the slide lights, those lights are controlled by inCommand -- it shouldn't make a difference, but it ought to be tested first in case it does. In either case, you won't be able to change the intensity via inCommand.
  3. You have to make sure to get exactly the same model of dimmer as on the slide -- I found out the hard way that there is more than one dimmer unit that uses exactly the same outer case, and certain of them throw hash onto the DC network that shows up as a big hum in your stereo speakers. (I haven't yet pursued this problem.)
  4. The dimmer is a four-wire device -- +/- in and +/- out -- and the switches you have are two-wire. I haven't checked whether the - wire runs uninterrupted alongside the hole such that it can be fished out and used, but you'd need that. My experience has been that Keystone leaves a lot of slack in the wiring.
If you do pursue this, I'd be interested in the outcome.

I just installed this dimmer switch from Amazon. I replaced the on/off switch that controlled the slide recessed dome lights. It just needed a bit of cutting the panel to get the larger switch to fit. Both the +/- wires were behind the switch. It dims to about 20% brightness, and smoothly adjusts to full

I was pleasantly surprised that the existing lights were already dimmable LED's, so I did not have to replace them. But if I had - I found these very reasonably priced on Walmart:

No they are not. They are listed just like fluorescents. Instead of warm white, cool white and daylight. LED's come in #'s 3500, 4500, and 6000. Just changed out my too bright 6000 daylights for 3500 warm whites.

The 3500, 4500, 6000, etc are the color of the light measured in Kelvin. The intensity or brightness is a matter of wattage.

LEDs for RVs come rated in not only Kelvins but also the colors; warm, cool etc. The numbers, and color rating, are usually listed for ordering or on the package/box.
