What Is This?

We just picked our "new to us" 2013 OutBack Sydney and I was looking underneath the frame to make sure everything was sealed up correctly.

I saw these two water tubes hanging down underneath and had no idea what they are and why they are hanging down like this? Not sure if you can tell by the pictures but it looks like there is rv antifreeze in them.

The dealer we bought it from de-winterized it before we picked it so not sure why there would still be anit-freeze in there?

If anyone can tell me what these are and if it is ok they are hanging down like that I would greatly appreciate it!

Those are your low point drains. One for cold and the other for hot side of the fresh water system.

If you take the caps off and then open all the faucets inside, gravity will pull the water out. Normal for them to protrude.

So is that something that I should do each spring when de-winterizing or do I just leave it alone?

If you fill the fresh water system with antifreeze, I would use them to drain it out as a Start to de winterizing. I don't winterize in my part of the country so maybe someone that does every year can give a better answer.

Yes, open these two low point drains when you start to de-winterize. Opening them will allow almost all of the RV antifreeze to drain from your lines. Don't forget to close them when you start to put fresh water back into the system or else all the water you are putting in will drain out these tubes.

You can dewinterized without opening these but that will leave some antifreeze in the system. You can open them in the fall to empty the water and then in the fall to drain the antifreeze. You should have another one some place for the fresh water tank.
