Towing the cougar
Well we just got a new Tundra. We towed our Cougar 21RBS with a Tacoma last year. She was a good little tug but we were right at or close to the max towing capacity @ 6500. Now we're @ 10,400 with the Tundra. Now we can go bigger on the TT if we want to. The Tacoma did the job but I knew I needed a bigger truck. We are gonna be able to relax and enjoy being able go anywhere we want now. I can't wait for the campgrounds to open.

Nice! Always a good feeling to have extra capacity in a truck.

Congrats on the new TV. Been there, done that. I'm not sure you should try to pull a space shuttle with it but the new half ton pick ups are much more capable of towing heavier loads than just a few years ago. If you are like many of us it will not be long before you are looking at new larger trailers with more or bigger slides. The limiting factor on most half tons is payload, but there are many larger light weight trailers out there that can be pulled by a half ton PU. Have fun if spring ever gets here.

Congrats on the new TV. Just don't get into the same situation with no towing headroom!

Congrats on your new Tundra. We pull our Bullet (5K lbs) with our Tundra and it does a great job too. Made in Texas by Texans!

Congrats!
We just purchased our first TT, a 28' ft Cougar 25RET, a few weeks ago. In order to tow it we also had to acquire a TV. My V6 Ford F-150 (recently traded for a new car) had a tow rating of 5100 lbs, my wife's Hyundai Santa Fe had a much lower rating and the TT dry weight is around 5800 lbs IIRC. So we traded her Santa Fe for a 2010 Chevy Tahoe with low miles on it. The Tahoe has a 5.3L V8, 3:42 rear end and HD towing package which gives it a towing capacity of 8500 lbs. Would be nice to have a vehicle with a higher rating but we should be fine unless we really go crazy loading up the TT.

Congrats on the Tundra, you'll love it. We bought our Passport 238MLWE last September and I pulled it with my 2008 Tacoma Double Cab Sport 4x4 several times. The Tacoma did well with it but I really didn't want to work it that hard so I traded it in for a 2010 Tundra Double Cab 4x4 in October with the tow package and 5.7 liter. Holy cow what a difference! I can hardly tell the trailer is back there and the tow/haul mode along with sport shift makes towing so much better. The 5.7 actually gets 1.5-2 miles per gallon better towing than the Tacoma got with the 4 liter V6 (I just wish it got better mileage when not towing but I can't have everything). I just pulled the Passport to the house tonight to get it ready for the first outing of the year. We're headed to the coast tomorrow to do a little spring break camping and the weather doesn't actually look too bad.

We've never stopped. When it gets cold up North we head for warmer climate.
