Soft Fiberglass?

I'm new to owning a fiberglass sided travel trailer. I've been doing a lot of reading on de-lamination and I have a question regarding my new trailer.

It's a brand new Cougar 27RLSWE. The sides seem very solid, but if I use my hand I can push on the front and back fiberglass and it flexes. It feels like there isn't anything behind it for an inch or two.

Is this normal or something I should have the dealer look at?

Thank you for your input. Robb.

Robb -
The backs of many RV's will flex when pushed so what you are experiencing is normal. Unlike the sides, the backs are not fastened to anything solid except around the outer edges. They will flex less around your window or other similar "openings".

We don't have a TT and the front of our 5th wheel has far less flex but it is not flat and being curved in many areas it is not as prone to flexing.

No need to take it into the dealer. It is not a sign of delamination.

Awesome. Thank you for the good news. The back is exactly as you described. Around the tail lights, window and sides it is tight. In between those things is where it flexes. And the front is large and curved so it flexes everywhere in the middle.
