Faulty Water Pump wire to BCM
Recently on our last Camping trip I noticed the fuse blown to the water pump. We have never used th ewater pump since purchasing th eunit, but I was caught by surpirse when it blew. After installing a new fuse within millisecs another fuse blew. So idisconnected the wire from the fuse panel and the bcm and the wire checked out fine. I left the wore disconnected on the BCM and placed another fuse back in and no change to the fuse. I did voltage check on the wire and it was reading the same as the positive baterry side. The minut I hooked the wire back to the terminal on the BCM the fuse blew. I not an lectrician and am totaly loss as to what to look for befor ei take it in for service.

Look at the wires at the water pump. I’m thinking that’s where the problem is.

If the fuse blows immediately either the pump is bad or the positive wire to the pump is contacting the ground somewhere. I would disconnect the pump wires at the pump. Turn on the switch and if the fuse doesn't blow then the pump is bad. If the fuse does blow then the wire is touching ground somewhere.

I disconneted the pump and yes the fuse is still blowing I'll figure out to test the wire to ground. THank you.

If you disconnected the positive wire at the pump at it still blows a fuse then I’m betting it’s either pinched in the framework or it’s got a brad through it shorting it out.

To test the wire to ground remove power by pulling the fuse. Set your multimeter to ohms. Place the red meter lead on the positive wire and the black on a ground (any 12 vdc ground) and the meter should read out of range or OL for out of limits or infinity depending on your meter. If it reads zero or any other small number then it's shorted to ground.

Since you aren’t blowing the power center ATC fuse then simply check the output wire from BCM to water pump for a short to ground as already stated
Not sure what year your RV is or what version of In Commamd so I used one of the Global Connect versions as a reference
Color code of wire from BCM output to water pump Plus 12 volt side should be Blue

Thank you. I have been so busy worrying about the input wire I didn't think to check the output to the pump.
I have a 2020 Cougar with the Jensen incommand and what I founf troubling is that the in wire was on the output while the output was on the input. so I'm sure something went wrong there. but still I ma a novice at this so it takes me a littl elonger thatn normal.
