Man, I suppose I'm isolated. What in the world is that all about?? Most races have goal to win but seems this one is just to see who can tear up what? Guess I'm tired and my age is showing....

For the sake of the cleanup crew, I hope the tanks were empty!

I would imagine driving in a demolition derby would be a lot more fun than watching it but it makes my neck hurt just warchibg.

Well, lots of things can be learned form this video.

#1 being ... drive defensively!

#2 watch out carefully at intersections.

#3 Tail gating could be hazardous to your health.

#4 Even if you have the right-of-way, sometimes it's best to yield to the obnoxious driver.

#5 You don't have to be driving fast to experience sway problems!

#6 Keep your RV insurance paid up to date.

#7 There are a lot of aggressive drivers out there! Sometimes it might be better to just take a different route.

#8 I wouldn't advise riding in an RV trailer while it is being towed. You just never know who, or what may come flying through your living room!

#9 Weight distribution hitches really are NOT needed in some situations!

#10 Relax when driving and towing an RV trailer. These guys are in just too big of a hurry! They all appear to be striving for the destination, and just "racing" through the journey!

I actually had a family member (not close) that rented vehicles and IMO abused them. I went with him one time to move some stuff and told him treating the vehicle like that wasn't right and he should be more careful; his reply = "it's a rental". I don't rent, loan or anything else with my "stuff" unless I'm attached to it.

Yeah, the term, "Beat like a rented mule" comes to mind.....

Favorite little bit of humor when I was travelling:
"What's the best four-wheel-drive vehicle? Any rental car!"

I also saw that Good Sam is now in the RV rental business and out of curiosity, does anyone know how their insurance company would treat a claim while your camper is rented to "that guy and his family"? Does Good Sam pick up repair bills? What if a sofa is ripped or a table cracked? I am pretty sure the renter will have to give a damage deposit but RV's have expensive expensive furnishings and parts.

You’d have to be a fool in my book to rent out a extremely complicated and also somewhat fragile system to a novice with no attachment whatsoever
(Except the hitch of course lol)
What if they show up with a Nissan Murano to tow a 25’ travel trailer?

I imagine the only one not getting sued when they have a rollover acccident is GS themselves because you probably signed away any culpability on their part.

You would have to start an LLC and get throwaway campers to limit your risk

Now back in 1997 I did rent a fleetwood motor home from a couple in VA and drove it up the east coast, cape cod and Maine
The couple that rented it to me had me add it to my personal insurance policy for the trip…the couple had a few really nice motor homes that they rented out as an investment..
I take care of things but I was a complete novice at everything involved with it. I tried looking them up again but they were out of buisness after a few years

Rental cars? I wish I kept count of the number of times I rented cars during my working life. I'd wear out a keyboard reflecting on what I've experienced. So let's just say I would never consider purchasing a rental vehichle of any type nor would I consider renting out one of mine.

Just read the countless questions posed by new owners on this forum that have a huge "vested interest " in NOT damaging their investment. Now imagine that same level of "knowledge" behind a vehichle piloted by someone in the "it ain't mine " mindset. Not with mine. If I get that desperate for cash I'll just sell out.

My insurance policy stipulates that the policy does not cover any commercial use of the trailer. In other words, I can "lend" my trailer to someone and it's covered, but if they "pay" to use the trailer, it's commercial and Progressive is no longer responsible for any loss.....

You can bet your last dollar that Good Sam is not going to cover your loss and you can also bet the "dollar before your last one" that their "contract with you" does not include any way for you to claim a loss such as "lending your trailer"...

So, contract with Good Sam to rent your RV and you'd better have a "air tight commercial insurance policy" or you're likely to get stuck with any damage that's not addressed in the rental contract.

I bought a Chevy Lumina from Enterprise for the daughters time at Baylor. I think the only thing I replaced was the battery and a set of tires. It held up fine for 4+ years. Yes it was Baylor green. Her friends called it the FBI car it was so anonymous.
My theory was to buy what the police used. Surely they had statistics on longevity. Surely.
