Slide cable is fraying

I’m In Montana and noticed one of my slide out cables is fraying. A strand or two are broken. Do you think it will snap? Soon? Anything I can do to help it beside replacing it, which I don’t relish trying while on the road. Put some gorilla tape around it? Thanks for the help!

If it were me, I'd snip the frayed ends so they don't get hung up on the slide frame. A quick repair when you get ot the next town might be to have the trimmed strands soldered to the others so they don't continue to unravel. Replacement as soon as practical.
