Strange: Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Left the Montana unplugged and closed up all week at the CG. We arrive, plug her in, open slides, turn on fridge, gas water heater (30 amp site), front AC. About 20 min later alarm goes off. Turn off gas water heater, open all windows and door, turn on roof fans. It's been at least 30 min and its still in alarm state.

Any ideas? We are sitting in the truck with the AC on...silencing the alarm every 6 mins

If you opened the windows and turned on the fans and it's still in"alarm" mode, I would be inclined to think the monitor has failed.

I just cut all power for a cpl mins and restored power. Flashing green now but giving it 5 min to reset and detect something. Considering running to Lowes to get a plug in co monitor to confirm.

Must be a bad detector. Was green after power reset for about 2 hrs. Bought 2nd house type detector with display. It reads 0 ppm of co. Now the dang thing turned red and alarmed....after in bed. I guess im getting up every 2 hrs to reset pwr. Too hot and muggy to sleep with no air.

Im tempted to shut power off use battery disconnect and cut the thing off at the wires...tape off the wires. Sucks getting up every 2 to 3 hrs

I hope you have disconnected the alarm by now; sounds like it's bad. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a new one. Worst case, if you have to order a new one specifically for your trailer, is to disconnect the wiring and leave it until a new one arrives. Unless you're doing lots of "something" you won't generate enough carbon monoxide to worry about. Turn on the AC, crack a vent and be happy. Sounds like you've already obtained an outboard monitor of some kind so you shouldn't have any worries.....just stop the beeping

Thought the cover and base were just joined / snapped together and would separate easily. Turned out that under the label on the back were 2 small screws...one on on each side. Wires were soldered to the circuit board. Cut wires and taped off for now.

Had a good/uninterrupted night's sleep last night. I should have found and removed the fuse controlling it the first night. O well...

Have a house/Kidde CO detector now. No propane detector. Will be in touch with our dealer to see if they will order a replacement under warranty. 5er is just 2 months new. Am hoping they will given the circumstances. Worst case I'll just buy the replacement.
