mud flaps

What is the general condense regarding the use of mud flaps to protect the nose of your travel trailer? Ours has no protective diamond plate so with a new to us tow vehicle, Dodge Ram 2500 HD, and it is high, I have to wonder if this wouldn't be a good idea. What are the thoughts out there on this?

I use them to protect the trailer, the rocker panels, and the rear quarters on my truck. Can't really remember the last time I had any vehicle without them. Even put flaps on my wife's camaro, of course those are color matched to the car an much smaller, but the protect the paint. My rv has the rock guard paint across the front, color matched, but I still try to keep rocks from hitting it too much

Mud flaps front and rear on all my trucks. Saves the truck and the trailer and cuts down on spray on others'. The Dodge ( Mopar Splash Guards ) work well and fit great. JM2¢, Hank

I unfortunately learned the hard way and towed mine initially without mud flaps. Luckily I only had two very small dings in my tailgate from rocks bouncing up, hitting the front of my camper then bouncing and dinging my tailgate. Put some big fat mud flaps on and haven't had a problem since.
