Pismo Beach State Park?

Heading to California in about a month. I have the whole trip mapped out except for 3 days where we wanted to stay near the ocean in California.
Pismo Beach is a good distance between our last stop. Originally we were going to book a private site in Pismo beach at 54 bucks a night. Found there is a state park close by and they are half the price...

So.. No power or water or sewer which is fine. It appears there is only first come first serve for big rigs. Has anyone stayed there before. Going Sunday night in April seems like we should be ok for a spot..

If you've been there would appreciate the commentary..

I have not stayed at Pismo Beach SP, only stayed at El Capitan, which is also on the ocean. No hook ups their either.

Hope you enjoy your stay and please let us know what you thought about it!

Smile Beach Camping

Hey Max
Pismo State Beach Park is okay but busy. Jalama Beach is much nicer, quieter and cheaper. No hook ups but you may even get to see a rocket launch if your lucky. It's a 14 mile drive into it from Hwy 1 but well worth it and big rig frendly.

Both great options. Looks like When heading south Pismo beach is first, el capitan second, and jalama is last. Not that much distance between each.

The all have good reviews, true Pismo beach suggests it's busiest. El capitan looks nice, antiqfreq appreciate the suggestion. it might be reservation only now. They converted the group camp to big rig according to the website.

Ruffus - Jalama Definately off the beaten path but the pictures look very good. Plus of all three from google earth I would say the park looks nicest and ocean views seem all unobstructed.

If all goes according to plan we get there around 6pm Monday night. First come first serve in April on a Monday should be ok... I think we will try for Jalama and keep the phone numbers of all these places handy while on route...

Thanks to you both.

Crystal River FL

We are 3/4 finished with our 2 + Bike Week trip to Daytona with our final week in Crystal River, FL b-4 heading back to Dahlonega, GA on Sunday. Anyone considering the Nature Coast of FL should consider this park....I will be posting 10's on RV Park Review site. Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in Crystal River is GREAT!
Rate is $245 a week inclusive of all taxes; wi-fi, cable tv with 50 channels; all 50 amp sites...ez in and out; level and heavily wooded. Bath houses are immaculate. Heated pool and hot tub. Very NICE place.....period! 15 golf courses within 20 minutes,,,nice ones,,,airboat rides (which we are doing Friday) kayaks, canoes; just beautiful....
Put this one on your list.....no regrets....
