Aluminum siding cracking?!?!

I have a 2003 Springdale 29'. The problem I am having is on both sides of the slide out at the top on each corner, the aluminum siding is cracking. It is a straight crack running upward (approx 3-4 inches long). It is doing the same thing on the back entry door but the cracks are only an inch - 2 inches. The slideout is on the street side toward the front if the trailer.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it? Id really rather prefer to keep this trailer and not have to replace the whole trailer

The are probably stress cracks caused by flexing of the trailer.

At the end of the crack, drill a small hole - 1/8" is plenty - that will stop the crack from growing. Then get some good white vinyl tape and cover it to keep water out.

I had stress cracks above the forward door of our '99 Sunline. Drilled 'em, taped 'em, and enjoyed another 9 years with the trailer.
