So 1st Owner and I have so many questions.

We bought generators and hooked it up and turned it on and that works. Other than replacing a couple of light bulbs, it was all good.

But what about the water fill tanks? There is one that says Fresh Water and one that says Public Water. Do they fill the same tank? Are there two independent systems?

We looked underneath the trailer and we see (3) tanks but they all seemed to be connected to the discharge line?

or are they (2) water tanks and (1) disposal tank? If so, are there back-flow preventers installed to keep them separate? or is one toilet, one tub and one sinks?

Let’s see if we can sort this out:

Fresh water fills a water tank and you use the water pump to pressurize the system. Public water or city water? Anyway you hook up a water hose and turn on the spigot at the other end to pressurize the system. No need for the water pump but you do need a quality water pressure regulator.

3 tanks underneath mean probably 1 for the toilet ( back/waste) and 2 gray tanks , one for the bathroom sink and shower and the other for the kitchen.

You should have 3 separate pull handles, one for each tank. The valves will be at the tank so there will be no “mixing” unless you pull two or more handles at the same time. Mixing will only be in the 1 drain pipe.

Suggest you put the exact model of your trailer and tow vehicle in the your profile under the 'User CP' link in the upper left. It's very helpful when addressing specific questions.

The port labeled 'Fresh Water' will allow you to directly add water to your on board fresh water tank. You will need to have your water pump on to draw from this source.

The one labeled 'Public Water' is for direct connection of your trailer to a water source....such as a campsite water line, or the outside spigot at your house. This water will not go into your freshwater tank, but instead, will be directly fed to whatever tap you open (sink, shower, etc.). The water pump does not need to be on for this. However, it is important that this flow be controlled through the use of a pressure regulator. Too high a pressure could damage the piping in the RV.

If you see 3 tanks connected to your sewer outlets I'm guessing you have two gray water tanks, one for kitchen, one for bath. The third tank would be your black water (toilet) tank. I believe the fresh water tank should have its own drain, not connected to this system. I'm sure more experienced users will chime in.

FYI!
NEVER leave the black tank valve open when connected to a sewer connection, fill & drain as needed. If you chose you can leave the bath grey valve open, it's typically the quickest to fill, close it a day or 2 before dumping the black tank so you can have plenty to rinse the hose after dumping the black tank.

Here's a diagram of a typical RV water system. It shows the fresh water tank/city water connection, the pump, the sinks/shower/toilet, the various holding tanks for gray (sink/shower) water and black (toilet) water, and finally, the dump valves that you'll open to dump the various tanks....

It's all a "continuous loop" from filling the fresh water tank to using the water to dumping the used water.

Your trailer will have ONE fresh water tank, ONE or TWO gray water tanks (depending on floorplan) and ONE black tank per toilet. Each tank will have a dump valve dedicated to that tank, so if you see 3 tanks under the trailer, you'll also need to locate all 3 valves to empty the tanks.
