bearing buddies...

Seen them used on boat and utility trailers, any reason they can't/shouldn't be used on an RV?

The main reason not to is they have a tendency to push grease through the rear seal and into the brakes. Even the RV axles designed with grease fittings can do that, so there is no sure way but getting your hands greasy or paying the dealer and hoping they do it right. JM$.02 , Hank

I've heard the same thing, in fact I was told that if you use the EZ-lube hubs you should jack up the wheel and rotate it while you grease it, dosen't sound so EZ to me!!

I have them on my 24' enclosed car hauler and they have worked fine for years now - very easy to grease and bearings are in good shape.

I have a ten year old 16' double axle enclosed trailer with E-Z lube hubs. I have always used the E-Z lube hubs to pack the bearings and I've never had any problems. If you pump the grease in slowly it won't blow past the seals. Over the years I have removed the hubs to inspect the bearings and brakes several times. I haven't had any problem with grease leaking past the seals or getting on the brake shoes.
