Passport 175BH Vent Fan

Seriously looking at buying a 175BH for the family, however I have a question about the roof vent.

The bathroom vent has a fan (so power) however the vent in the kitchen does not have a fan. I was hoping to install a Fan-Tastic Fan (or similar) in that vent to pull the heat of the kitchen out.

Does anyone know if this vent has power or if it'd be easy to get power to it?

Odds are if there isn’t a powered fan in the vent hole, there isn’t 12V run to it. That said, getting 12V to it may be a simple or complicated task. If there is a light nearby you can tap into it. But if that light is on a wall switch it would mean the light has to be turned on. It’s common to run 12V wiring in the rafters and if you take the inside vent part ( garnish ring) you may locate some wiring. I’m pretty much all RVs the 12V wiring is stranded wiring with two conductors. White is ground and white with a colored tracer is positive. I have a test light that I can pierce the wire to see if it’s “hot”.

You might be able to fish the needed wirebover to the stove vent or refer via the rafters. Where there is a will there is a way.

Good morning. JoeJim Welcome. We have the same camper, i replaced the bathroom fan with a vortex . We could cook in the camper with the front vent slightly open and open the bathroom one fully and with the fan on it pulled the smoke etc out the rear vent. I did eventually install the same fan on the front kitchen vent as well. just tapped into the light closest to vent.

I figured I'd swap out the bathroom vent for a MaxxFan. For your kitchen one, so is it tied to a light switch?
