5th roof material maintenance

Hi there
This from New Zealand. New to this with a 10 year old keystone 5th.
Got up to the roof to check something and noticed the membrane roof material was a bit “chalky” . Suggestions for a fix and maintenance would be appreciated. Cheers

Welcome, from Indiana USA.
1st, know what type of roof membrane you have. That determines the type of cleaner and resealer you use. There are some good videos on how to tell what type of roof you have.

Here is a video I did of a camper I had a few years ago. Use a chemical cleaner followed by a sealer and you be very pleased. Reseal all joints while you're up there to know you don't have any potential leaks.

Enjoy your RV!!

Geoff, Take a look at this thread. You need to confirm the type material used on your roof and use the proper sealant(s) to reseal. Both issues are mentioned in this thread:

Or you can opt for a "Lifetime" roof and never worry about it again.

If your roof is EPDM, suggest the Gaco product may not be the right answer:

No issues with mine. Sounds like there was a pre-existing condition. The guy that did mine has done hundreds and has never had an issue. Even Dicor makes a silicone roof system now.

This is made specifically for EPDM. The GACO works on anything IIRC. When they did mine they removed all the old caulking and seals/tape and filled the exposed seams with the GACO before coating the whole roof two times.
