New awning issue

Hi Everyone, We recently had the awning fabric replaced on our Domestic 9100 power awning.
While at the dealership getting the awning replaced the motor started to become weak and wouldn't bring the awning back in. So they replaced the motor.

The issue now is when I push the switch to extend the awning and let off the switch right before the flap hangs down, the awning continues to roll out to the end. It sounds like the motor stops when I let off the switch but gravity takes over and fully extended it goes.
It stops fully extended and does not try to roll back up. I can correct the over extension by hitting the retract switch for a few seconds to bring it back where the flap is straight down. The then holds in place.
Before replacing the fabric it didn't do this. The service department cannot figure out the issue so I've been searching and searching the web for a fix but to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

When they replaced the fabric did they "pin" the ider end? It has a spring in it and if they didnt pin it then it may not have any tension. Otherwise the "motor brake" is defective.

The roller does have tension, I watched them tighten the spring. I can stop the awning at any point on the way out and it stops and holds just fine. It's just within the last 12 inches or so that when I let off the switch the motor stops but then the awning goes all the way out to the end by itself.

I would maybe add 3-4 winds and see what happens.

Yep. Sounds like it is a little light on the spring.
