Propane Regulator Recall

See here:

https://www.rvtravel.com/huge-keysto...e-fire-danger/

Haven't checked mine yet, but will. I always turn my propane tanks off when not in use.

Several members have this type of regulator. Many do not, but are not sure what to even look for to see if their RV is affected.

This is a photo of the recalled regulator. If yours looks like this photo and if your trailer is a 2017/2021 year model, your regulator may be in the recall program.

If your regulator does not look like this, it's not a part of the recall. Owner notifications are supposed to go out the week of November 8th.

The recall has been going on since early spring, but they keep adding more RV brands, more models, more VINs and expanding the recall. I just checked and I have a model 6020 on my 2019 Passport. I will have to run my VIN tomorrow and see if I am on the list.

I sent an email to Keystone tonight. I've got a 2021 with a 6020.

Marshall Excelsior Auto Changeover Regulator MEGR-253 https://g.co/kgs/VKNjok

IMHO if you have the regulator in the recall I'd just replace it with this one & forget about waiting til Keystone or your dealer get around to it.
If it's like most recalls they may offer some reimbursement if you've already replaced the faulty part.

It would also be my opinion, matching Danny's, to simply buy another quality regulator and replace it yourself. I'm certainly not bringing my RV to a stealership to have them replace a $50.00 part. And I'd do it today, if not sooner.

Once I looked up the cost of a new regulator, the lack of urgency from the manufacturer to notify/replace, and only having one or two trips left before we store it for the winter, I am just going to replace it myself.

Im ripping this out anyways for a gauged one, but given the trailer was literally built a few weeks ago (I bought it like 2 days after it was delivered from IN) does the recall expand into this new?

To each their own but to me, for the money, I'd replace it. Talk to the dealer about the recall. If you have other warranty work have it replaced then. If not, ask if they can ship it to you but be prepared to ship the replaced ujit back. If that doesn’t work do a cost vs benefit of hualing it back to the dealer.

I have a 2020 Premier with the 6020 regulator. I was camping last weekend and when I turn my outside grill on the gas just rushed out. I look up the recall from Keystone and my trailer is not covered. I also called my dealer and they have no replacements. Looking online I could not find any either other the the 6020 that is being recalled. WHere are you guys getting new ones from?

Thanks
Joe

ACR6A from flame king $30-ish amazon, BUT out of stock till early oct...it seems the recall is causing a run on dual switchover regulators by people that dont trust dealers....oh.....wait...... lol

So the ACR6A from Flame King is good? I found 1 on ebay for 75 with 2 new pigtails. It looks like the pigtails on the 6020 a different the ACR6A so 75 is not off since the one on amazon does not have pigtails.

I'd highly recommend the Marshall brand shown in post #5!
I've replaced both the auto changeover & the small crossover regulators on my last 3 5th wheels with the Marshall brand. They may be a bit more $$ but in my opinion they're worth it.

Make sure you check the outlet pressure when done.

I posted some of this before....

Almost 2 months ago I had a pretty bad propane leak. I didn't see anything obvious so off to the dealer.
He said the regulator was bad. It should push 11" of water and mine was pushing 27".

Took a while to get a replacement which I thought was strange, I mean a propane regulator? How hard can it be?

Too bad I don't know the brand of the old one.
The new one is totally different. It's a Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 but it doesn't look anything like the picture in Post #2.
