Does DIY Solar Roof Install Void Warranty?
Hi there - I'm the proud owner of 2021 Passport 268BH. I have a solar panel leftover from previous camper, and wish to install on the roof, where Zamp inlet socket is already packaged.
My question - does screwing into the roof void the Keystone warranty in any way?
Thanks so much.

I don't think it automatically voids the warranty. But if there's a future failure that can be traced to your installation (dare I say, shoddy? lol) , then they would be justified in not repairing it for free (under warranty).
Do your installation research, do a good job, dicor the heck out of it, and you should be fine.
Have you installed solar panels on an RV rooftop before? How many watt is the old solar panel you have?

I can’t say if the warranty would be void, but as stated, I would use Dicor in liberal amounts.
When I installed panels on new units I would start the screws, back them out and then put a good blob of Dicor UNDER the bracket, covering the hole before putting the screw in all the way. Then I would cover the entire bracket including the back side.

It's a 100W Renogy suitcase model - perhaps not appropriate for rooftop installation?

100W isnt really that much power, I might be inclined to leave it on the ground.

That rooftop gland is for panels that are screwed down to the rooftop, which you can't really do with a briefcase panel. So you are better off plugging the suitcase into the port near the front of your TT. And Chuck's right, for a rooftop install you really should consider 200 or more watts. And to use the rooftop gland, you have to find the right location and install a solar charge controller between the gland and the batteries. Your suitcase panel probably has a solar charge controller built into it, that's why you can plug it directly into the batteries. Just my thoughts...

Thanks everyone who contributed here. Looks like I'll wait until purchasing some rooftop models before installing anything.
