Air conditioner compressor problem

We have a 2018 Outback 330RL. The air conditioner cools fine but when the fan shuts off it sounds like the compressor keeps running for about 30 - 45 seconds. It will start running by itself for about 30 - 45 seconds without the fan running. When the temperature increases enough the unit will come on normally and cool us down, but when the desired temperature is reached the fan shuts off and the compressor runs again for the 30 - 45 seconds. Even when the temperature stays cool the compressor will come on by itself every 5 minutes or so for the 30 45 seconds.

Update: this problem started Friday night and went all day Saturday. Last night I turned off the circuit breaker and used the bedroom AC. Today when I turned the main unit back on it seems to be working normally.

Could it have been iced up?

No I also turned it off for several hours while we were out yesterday, I forgot to mention that the compressor would cycle every 5 minutes or so even with the thermostat turned off
