No pantry? (bullet 286QBS) Where do you put your food items?

We will probably be signing for a Bullet 286QBS later today. My only concern is that there is no pantry.

We are having them install cabinet doors under the dinette to be able to access the storage under there easier. I might put pantry items under there...not really sure, though. My thought is that if there are canned goods and such in the overhead areas, things could fall out of them when they are opened.

What do you (or would you) do for pantry storage when there is no actual pantry?

Thanks in advance!!

We had the same issue with our last unit and we stored food items in the under bed staroge area. I boxed off an section for food. This was a 24 ftr.

I hope that helps

Thanks. I hate to have to run all the way over to the bed (as though it is really that far. LOL) to get food items when cooking. There's gotta be a good solution.

What about the overhead cabinets on the slide? Or am I thinking of a different floorplan?

There are lots of over head compartments, but they are deep and things are not easily accessible. I ended up buying a few tubs to put up there to label and pull out. Still won't be as easy as using a "pantry" where you can easily see everything though.

Thanks.

Even with our deep pantry, we still need to use tubs. Although, adding lights to the pantry made a world of difference.

I have the same problem in our 5th wheel and use an overhead cabinet at the end of the trailer in living room area. I do miss a real pantry.

We use the wardrobe in our bullet...

We use the wardrobe in our 278RLS Bullet for a pantry. It is located right off the kitchen so the locations works. Currently using some cheap plastic drawers from the office store, but am looking for something that might work better. ?
As for clothes...well they are all wrinkled,,,but hey we are camping!

We use one of these in the wardrobe -
http://amzn.com/B0000CNQYIGranted, it would be a bit flimsy for cans, but could hold softer, bulkier items like marshmallows, chips, bread, etc.

We use the thin totes with wheels that are made to go under a bed. They fit perfectly in the long space under our dinette benches. Open the door and they will roll out foe easy access to the food items.

Go to home depot and buy the wired shelves they use in closet. I use the basket type, stacked thermonuclear each other in the pantry closet, zip tied them together and then secured them each to one of the sidewalls. Works great and all of the normal pantry item easily fit. Also with the basket version you donthave to worry about anything falling out.

You use atomic warheads to stack them together??

That reminds me of my new favorite time wasting site...

Well, our wardrobe is in the bunkhouse and not by the fridge so we can't use that. The kids have their things in there.

Still looking for the perfect solution! LOL I like the rolling out bin idea for under the dinette but there is an inch or two "lip" at the front which would prevent that.

Thanks for sharing all of your ideas!
