Red face Fall Trip to Grand Canyon & S. Utah

We're heading west on Labor Day and welcome any input on how to best view the sights from a few campgrounds. We're driving to the area on I-70 and returning home on I-40. We've a Keysone Bullet RB 246 and this will be our first major trip out west where we'll have to navaigate steep long grades and curvy roads. If you've towed TT to north rim we'd appreciate you input.

Many of us could write volumes about the Grand Canyon and Southern Utah, but instead, go to Amazon and look for a series of photographers guides called by a guy named Laurents Martres' There are several, all of them outstanding with detailed directions to the most scenic spots in the country. If you are a photographer, these books are indispensable.

Are you staying on the North or South side of the GC?

We have stayed on both sides. The North Rim is less populated and if you want a closer to the canyon experience, that's the serene side. The south rim has a carnival atmosphere with plenty of tour buses and people.

I've only stayed on the north side and stayed about an hour from the north rim, as it was the closest I could get and still have power. Campsite was nice enough although I remember having issues with the sewer being quite far for my trailer.

Labart, Howdy;

Keep an eye on the weather as you get closer to Denver,
once past it, you are more or less committed to crossing
the Rockies at their highest point. It will and does SNOW
up near the Eisenhower Tunnel year round. Here's some info
from Co.DOT.

Bryce and Zion National Parks are must-sees. Also, near Moab - Canyonlands and Arches NPs. Temperature-wise, you're picking a great time of the year, because in the summer it's REALLY HOT! If you take it safe, slow, and easy, all of the roads are good.
