Norton/phishing

Norton is shutting this site down as a phishing problem, y'all might want to look into that.. I had to circumnavigate the blockage to leave y'all this message.

I don't think that information is quite accurate, according to the Norton Safe Web website this forum is listed as safe or OK. Members can go to the Norton Safe Web website and see a direct link of what Norton is saying about this forum.

Not sure what was happening but my Norton Internet Security was blocking my access to this site as a phishing site for several hours last Saturday.

Since I enjoy this site I thought it best to let y'all know about the problem.

I have no idea why or if it was a glitch in my Norton but it was annoying because every time I attempted to visit I would get a popup from Norton warning me that I shouldn't visit this site. And if I ignored the warning I would get the same popup every couple of minutes.

It ain't like I'm a new member or a novice on a computer, I make my living as a design engineer and have been using these things since the early 80's.

By late afternoon the warnings stopped and everything was as normal, can't explain it but it darn sure happened.

Glad to hear it is working for you now, not sure what occurred as I do not use Norton but I wanted to ensure that anyone that read this thread could verify for themselves that Norton says this forum is safe. I work in IT and take security very seriously, having this site safe for users is a top priority.

I use Norton Internet Security and Norton 360 on my computers. Occasionally after an automatic Norton Update, I'll get the same "warning" about sites that I regularly visit. I think that possibly, when some Norton updates are run, they remove or cancel the previous settings in the "safe sites" section in my "personal Norton account" that resides on my computer. Then, when I visit those sites, Norton will flag the site as "possibly unsafe" and once I update my "personal preferences" the flag goes away.

It's happened a couple of times, always after an update or on a new Norton installation.

Possibly that's what Javi saw ???

Ain't the "internet wunnerful"

On another forum I am a member of, every once in a while it seems we have the same issue. Seems like it's tied to the advertising in the top banner.

I rarely use my 'puter these days and use apps for the forums so the scrolling ad banner isn't showing. Maybe that's the issue here?
