Cost of Propane

Our local Mom and Pop RV supply has propane for $1.95/gallon. so it'd run me about $14 per tank.

Last 20lb tank fill cost me $5.99 -- flat rate fill, at a hardware store in myrtle beach

Whoa! That's a good deal! It really does depend on where you live. I saw propane at a gas station the other day for $2.95/gal.

I'll let you know the cost in Myrtle Point, OR tomorrow. DH is taking a tank in for filling so we can take off Friday.

At the local ACE hardware today, I paid $16.95 for a 20 lb tank and $24.95 for a 30 lb tank. That's about 3.40 a gallon. The Tractor Supply in town sells it for 2.49 a gallon, but that's 15 miles away, so it's cheaper to get it locally at Ace than to spend the money for gas to drive to town. Of course with better planning...... LOL

I pay $1.00 per lb here, so $20 for a 20 lb tank...

$20 for a 20ld. fill ..... $17 for a 20lb. exchange
$30 for 30lb. fill ...... With the new over-fill prevention rules shutting off at below 90% it is more than a buck a pound. Thanks for the reminder ... I need gas for the BBQ.

Around here it's $1.00/ pound. but the exchange tanks that one company sells are always 3-4 pounds light!

Just filled our 5gal grill tank. It took 4.5 gals - cost $16.00 including sales tax. Had to pay the 5 gal minimum fill.

Wow, guess it really does depend on where you live. It's +/- $1 a pound here also.

Ok, a gallon of propane weighs approx. 4.2 lbs. So, if you pay a buck a pound, I'd rather pay the $3.70 a gallon. JMHO.
