Found a diesel!

Hopefully will look at it today. F250 7.3 1999 with 167K on it. Here's a link and any comments appreciated.

Looks good from the pictures. I would take the VIN# to a Ford dealer and ask them to give you the OASIS report on the truck. That would tell you what maintenance has been done to the truck by other owners. The 7.3 is the best motor by far Ford has out out.

That looks like a Lariat package with bucket seats. The weak link on the 99's was the transmission. The engine/turbo is pretty much "bullet proof" as long as you change the oil and let the turbo cool down after a hard pull (before you shut the engine off) Just let it idle for about 3 or 4 minutes at rest stops, etc before you shut it down.

At 167K miles, if that 7.3L has been properly maintained, you're looking at another 100K or more before you will need to do anything internally. Starters, alternators, injectors, etc should be good to go for a while also.

That was the first year of the "new superduty" body style, so there may be some issues with rattles, clunks etc that are missing from more recent model years.

I can say that my 99 superduty was the best truck I've owned and I often wish I'd have kept it, but that's another story LOL

Here is mine:
2000 F250 Super Duty XLT short bed
V10
3.73 gears
117,000 miles
10 mpg whether towing or not

Just purchased a month ago off Craiglist for $8500

Could not find a diesel around here that had less than 250,000 miles on it. I hope you have a great time pulling your rig and traveling!!!!
