there are lots of very nice state parks along the Oregon coast and you'll find sites big enough in most of them. Bad news is for weekends you need to get reservations in now. However there are several SP that are all or some loops first come first serve. Some nice spots are:
Fort Stevens, big park but some WWII encampments to see and lewis and clark camps nearby
Beverly Beach again a nice CG
Further down the coast Sunset Bay has some great overlooks close to the beach and great for whale and sea lion watching
Bullard Beach, another nice CG bigger than sunset bay,
Harris Beach great campground with some site overlooking the ocean and a short walk to the beach
Alfred A Loeb SP close to Harris beach but inland water/electric only on the Chetcko river and trails into the redwoods and myrtlewood groves. Access to a nice beach on the river
Harris and Loeb are great staging points for day trips to the North Calfornia redwoods. Your only about 10 miles from the california boarder
101 in Oregon is busy in the summer, but you won't be alone in pulling a big trailer. There are plenty of pullouts and overlooks to let traffic by.
Can't tell you much about traveling through CA on 101
