I called for a Dometic service repairman to the Campground to find the problem with our 1350 Dometic refrigerator. After running some test, He contacted Dometic to get approval for the cooling unit. The problem I ran into, the Technician would not agree to do the repairs for the amount Dometic approved. My cost was $600.00. (Est. $1975.00)

And that is exactly where Keystone puts many dealerships with their reimbursement rates for warranty repair. Is it any wonder why a "non-selling dealership" doesn't volunteer to repair any RV that rolls onto the service department parking lot?

Whether it's "right" or "wrong", it's the way almost every RV manufacturer runs their warranty department. Yup, the consumer is who usually gets stuck with the "$600 Dometic shortfall"...

In the words of Kurt Vonnegut, "So it goes".....

Couple that with the fact that as a tech, I can tell you it's a real challenge often times to finish the job within the "authorized repair" time.

I agree, it was impossible to change out the unit in allotted time (3.5 hrs.) plus needed help to remove and replace the unit. Two trips about an hour each way.
I must say the guy who did the work was excellent.

Got an email from Keystone today. Will see if the check really is in the mail.

Good Morning,
I am writing in reference to the letter that we received from the Better Business Bureau. I apologize for the length of time that it has taken for you to receive your check. We have been closed for the holidays which has held up your reimbursement. At this time the check is in the mail. If you have further questions or concerns please contact owner relations at (866) 425-4369 Monday-Friday 9am-4pm Est or e-mail [email protected]
Sincerely,
Chelsea Banks
