Went to dealer to look at passport 2810BH and

We saw an option we didn't even know about. It is just wife and our daughter 7.5 yrs old, and we had the following criteria;
  • Bunkhouse
  • Slide out
  • passport or Bullet model

We saw the Outback Terrain 260TRS and this completely changed our mind.

It had all our wants and even has a separate bedroom area for our daughter. We absolutely love this floor plan.

Would love to hear opinions and thoughts on this model. Does anyone know of any other similar floor plans with the separate bedroom like this model?

Any input would be appreciated. We have never owned an RV so we are very green to all of this.

Would definitely like to hear from anyone who recently purchased to see price point in which you purchased.

Thanks,

Mike

We have the 2920 which is just about the same trailer. LOVE IT! Bought it new ant the beginning on this season and have had it out over 20 nights with no issues. Only thing I will mention was that the kitchen hood over the stove does NOT vent to the outside...you will find on this forum that EVERYONE AGREES THIS IS DUMB! However the mod to put a vent in was a bout 2 hours of work and now I don't worry about it anymore.

Don't let that keep you from buying it..you are suppose to cook outside when camping anyway right?

Let em know if you buy it so I can add you to the friend list for future experiences with similar models.

Take care!

Hi Mike,
We purchased a 2015 Bullet 272BH in June - great family floor plan, Queen in the front, Full bunk beds in the rear. 5,000 lbs dry, about a 1000 lbs lighter than the Outback you are looking at. We are towing with a Tahoe, having camped about 35 days so far and mostly in the mountains of CO at 9'000' or above. We had a 2013 Jayco X213 with a King bed slide out in the back like the Outback that we traded in on the Bullet - we like the added slide out in the center of the camper giving us lot of room in the center plus not having to slide out the rear every time we arrive at a campground - not a big deal, but a few additional minutes before you have your chairs out with a beer.

Hope this helps, Jim

Mike,

The "Terrain" was introduced in 2013, although the Outback line has been around since 2002.

These are the only current Keystone lines with the rear bed slide. You may find a (somewhat) similar floorplan in
some of the light weight trailer lines, but the bunks are typically in the rear.

A word of caution -- be aware that the 260TRS has a hefty hitch weight (860 lbs, empty)... the bunks/sofa, ent center
& outdoor kitchen adds a lot of weight "up front". Generally speaking, this is usually too much hitch weight for "most"
1/2 ton trucks & SUV's [and especially once the family & trailer are loaded/ready to travel]!

Finding a good match for your tow vehicle is equally as important as finding the right floorplan.

Thank you for reply. I have a concern with the tongue weight as well. My payload is 1820 on the truck. It's definitely a big concern and Is something I am looking into.

The fallback model for us is passport 2920bh.

Thanks again,

Mike

We are leaning towards the 2910BH because its less tongue weight and total weight. It definitely fits our needs and has a separate room for my daughter. She really wants that separation. Any pro's and cons you can tell me would be appreciated.

Could you tell me the price you paid? You can PM me if you don't want to post.

Thanks,

Mike
