Outdoor kitchen advice / feedback

Hi,
I am looking at getting the Premier 31BHPR. I like the outdoor kitchen idea because I think we would use it more then the indoor kitchen.

I think the outdoor kitchen is better to
- keep the mess outside, grease from bacon, etc...
- reduce the interior temperature

I am looking for feedback from ppl with outdoor kitchens, how often you use it, is it worth it? Larger fridge outside or smaller?

What do ppl cook on it? I think I would just use the inside over for things like a frozen pizza... Microwave popcorn, but I think most cooking would be outside.

I guess you have to contend with bugs while cooking outside.

Thanks

We have always cooked outside and never use the indoor stove so we love the outdoor kitchen. We keep separate utensils, plates, cups, spices etc outside. We use the outside fridge mostly to store cold drinks. I plan on changing the sink faucet this year because the stock faucet is so low that you can't even wash your hands under it.

Also, good idea to close kitchen compartment door when raining heavy or at night. Water that penetrates the counter edges will damage it fairly easily.

Bottom line is thumbs up.

Love it, use it all the time. Camping is an outdoor activity. Fridge is used for drinks while traveling but during the week or weekend, things used while cooking go in there. Things like eggs, margarine, mayo etc. we like our kitchen with the tv rather than a microwave or extra cabinets.

Thumbs up

Always cook outside.. I use this (plugs into the propane on my rig)

http://www.amazon.com/Camp-Chef-Expe...tove+camp+chef

and this

http://www.amazon.com/Camp-Chef-Prof...V8B266BQSEKP8C

that goes on it when I want to grill....

The outside kitchen on my rig has a sink, microwave, cabinets & a fridge.

I'm undecided on whether I would prefer the TV or a microwave in the outdoor kitchen. We have tended to use a microwave a fair amount in our current pop-up. Good thing there is room on the counter for a microwave so we can add one.

I like the tv for the news while I cook breakfast or the game while out at the fire. We do not use the microwave to often, once in awhile for popcorn, if not over the fire, butter if the popcorn is over the fire. Probably used it about 6 times last year where as the tv is used every trip. But that is me and the next person likes something else.

The outdoor kitchen was the selling point in our 31 bhpr...do 90% of cooking here.. Set up a table and grill near by and you have all you need to cook any meal.. I can grab a cold drink, watch that game, flip a steak and cook the veggies without running all over.....

To Wing-in it:

Is there any difference between the Expedition 3X stove and the Big Gas stove?

I know the Expedition comes with a Griddle, and the Big Gas with a Pro Grill Box.

I am asking about the 3 burner unit comparision.

H&M,

Other than what you said, the difference to me is the Expedition Has the shields, paper towel holder, and the utensil holders (see two links below) & the big Gas grill has the shelf. I ordered the grill box separate so I have both the griddle & the grill. They both have 30,000 BTU burners.

I hope this helps.

Don't have the outdoor kitchen, but use the Camp Chef Expedition 2X. My parents do the same thing. We cook inside occasionally, my parents never do. Just nice to sit outside relax and enjoy the scenery while we cook. After all, isn't that what RVing is all about?
