Alpine 5th wheel issues

Here are a list of issues we found out about during the repair of our leak problem. If you have a 2014 alpine 5th wheel you may want to look for these problems:

Air conditioner unit on the right side of the Alpine may be installed incorrectly, which may cause leaks and water damage

Bedroom slide is off set and slide may not completely close on one corner when run in - will go in after driving for a little while - needs to be reset

Front leveling jacks leak hydraulic fluid

Awning had a recall and needs to be adjusted so it does not open by itself

We love the alpine and it has been repaired as far as we can see. Will update after we get it home and go on our next trip in about four weeks.

We also had issues with our Alpine at first. We have a good relationship with our dealer and they really worked with us to resolve each problem. It took awhile and many trips back and forth to the dealer but we are really happy with out Alpine. Good luck and hang in there.

Our A/C was off set to the right side also, we have a 2013 3535RE. We love our rig a lot.

2015 Alpine 3535RE

Only had the unit a bout a month, and the trial runs have discovered the following.

(1) The plumbing seems to be really screwed up.

The tank monitor sees the Black tank as Grey #1 tank, and Grey #1 is the Black tank.
Tank valves handles, Grey #1 valve goes to the Black tank, and the Black Tank valve goes to Grey #1.
The Sewer sprayer for the Black tank is hooked up to Grey #1 tank.

(2) Shower head won't shut off, drips constantly when water pressure applied to the RV.
(3) Microwave convection oven works half the time.
(4) Kitchen Slide sounds like it is off one of its runners and has a hard time extending and retracting.
(5) Wheel well skirt, inside and underneath looks like it was ripped up from a blowout.
(6) Outside light over the door works intermittently even if it is attached to a motion sensor.
(7) Kitchen sink, on the small sink side, does not meet the counter top.
(8) Linoleum floor was scuffed and torn.

Even with all the small stuff, we are still enjoying the RV life. Went up to Central City CO, temp dropped to freezing, Heat Pump kept us warm all night.

I will say the motion sensor on the entry light is next to worthless. I have never really had much success with ours. During the last trip I discovered it "looks" out too far and the awning is obstructing the view. If we put the awning in it worked much better. Once you get up under the awning I think you're pretty much under the field of view.

Alpine 3535RE Issues

We like our new 2014 3535RE which replaced a 2012 Montana High Country. We had problems with a couple of things. The biggest issue was with the Dometic fridge which stopped cooling on a hot summer day. The dealer had to get a baffle and fan kit from Dometic to help move the air behind the fridge better so the fridge would stay cool on 80 F days. Also had to replace the outside door light as it quit working. The awning was coming out of the track so the dealer fixed that as well. The hot and cold lines for the kitchen sink were connected up backwards at the factory so I just changed those myself. Overall we really like the layout of the Alpine and now we will see how well it works in Florida this February and March. Our hope is that the fridge problem has been fixed. Time will tell!

We positively love our Alpine! Full timers going on 3 years, with approximately 65 thousand tow miles so far! No serious issues (knock on wood)! We always kid around that ours must have been constructed on the days when they had the "big wigs" at the plant watching every move!

We still have fun looking at "other/newer" rvs and seriously we would not switch!!!
