Laredo 325rl kitchen gray tank gate

i have a 2017 laredo 5th wheel. it has two gray tanks. The bathroom gray tanks handle is in the docking station. The kitchen gray tank is located underneath. That handle goes through the "I" beam.

Before I randomly cut open the under belly is the gate located directly behind where the handle passes through or is it located elsewhere via a cable. The handle got jammed and bent when I tried to close it. I rebent it but there is still a slight kink in it. So it won't pass through the bushing. So I will have to replace it.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum

If there is a plate that looks like a flat nut with the handle coming out of the middle, it’s cable. If there is only a rod then it’s probably just straight pull.

Your underbelly should be screwed on at the edges, just remove enough for access/repair and then replace the screws.

Just a note: once you replace it, use some locktite to secure the connection.
it's also a good practice to turn the handle clockwise while pushing in to keep it from unscrewing.
Had to replace mine 1 time & found it loose 2 others before it fell out.
Hope nobody drove over the 1st one.
