Looking for mod to allow cargo door to open from the inside

Hello all,

We just upgraded to a Passport 268BH, which has the super-useful cargo door behind the lower bunk in the back. The cargo door has a locking latch that can be opened from the outside, but there's no way to open the door from the inside. In the event of an emergency, it would be great to be able to open that back cargo door as an additional escape route. Has anyone tried replacing the existing lockset on the cargo door with something like the locksets on the main door that would allow the cargo door to be opened from the inside?

I've been looking around the forum and haven't found this precise question. Apologies if I missed it!

Turns out this is a super simple fix. For anyone wondering, you can just swap out the existing latch for a standard main door latch. The sizing fits perfectly. Now our back cargo door has a deadbolt and can be opened from the inside in the event of an emergency. No idea why they don’t come standard with a normal door latch!
