Illinios registration question
I just got the renewal for my registration.
I bought my camper last May at Camping World in Springfield, IL, who handled all the initial registration paperwork.
I have a TC plate instead of an RV plate.
Looking at the IL website, I think I should have an RV plate, which is also about $50 less per year.
Am I missing something?
TIA

I believe you should have an RT (Recreational Trailer) plate. I don't know what a TC plate is, but my Passport 245RB has an RT plate registered for 10001K and it renews for $50.00 bucks. Here's a Secretary of State link if that will help at all: https://apps.ilsos.gov/pickaplate/pickaplate

Update!
I first went to an independent licensing facility since there's one close by.
He suggested contacting Camping World, so I did.
They checked the records, and found they had mistakenly applied for the wrong plate.
They told me to go to the DMV and get the classification changed, bring in the paperwork and they would reimburse me.
I mentioned that it is 150 mile round trip and asked if I could email a picture instead.
Sure, no problem!
I get everything taken care of, send pictures of the transfer, fees associated and mentioned the fact that I paid $158 last year and should have only paid $30.
That was Monday.
Yesterday I got a check for the full amount.
Ideally, they wouldn't have made the mistake in the first place, but I couldn't ask for a better or quicker resolution.
Kudos to Camping World in Springfield.

Thanks wrvond!
It seems, in general, negative reviews are posted more often.
Personally, unless it's a really bad experience, I'll let a bad experience slide. Everybody has a bad day.
I always enjoy sharing a positive experience.

I too would like to thank you for a positive, uplifting post. Things seem crazy to most folks currently and bright spots are most welcome.

I was kind of surprised that you had a 150 mile round trip to a DMV. We have two in our rural county and both are only about 25 miles from where I live. Is East Peoria a tiny place in the country?

Pretty sure he meant 150 mile round trip to camping world.
I’m surprised the process was so easy. When I was stationed in IL, I spoke to the people at the DMV about registering the rv, it was nothing but confusion. I’m sure I complicated things being in the military and having a TX DL with a NM address. They didn’t seem to know what to do with the rv or the car trailer. To be honest, I think I finally just registered them both in NM since i was getting ready to retire and move back there anyway. I know, stationed and living in IL, TX drivers license and NM address and registration. It’s complicated, don’t ask. I don’t remember all the details anymore.

Thanks everyone!
Wiredgeorge, bsmith is correct, 150 miles to CW and back.
East Peoria is across the river from Peoria, but is a separate city.
The closest DMV is in Pekin, probably 10 miles, there's another in Peoria.
I don't go to Peoria if I don't have to.
I've been going to Roanoke, Il DMV for the last 10 years or so.
Small town, small town service even if it is twice as far.
Hopefully it's all sorted out!
