We used factory mattress once and went out and bought a new one. We did the topper in our last rv and constantly fought it moving around. No more toppers for us.

I have had a few campers, I usually replace the mattress with the queen or queen short memory foam, I also go with the 8 inch as it is comfortable enough and easy enough to move when making the bed, My opinion.
