Electric shock

We are on the road and staying at our 4th park with hookups. At this park I notice I get a tingle when reaching for the door handle. Like a shock you get when walking across carpet.

I tested outlets in trailer with 3 prong tester and are good. Tested 20 amp plug on pedestal and it's good (plugged into 30 amp)

Also does not happen all the time just once in a while. Any thoughts?

First, I would suspect a bad or dirty ground at the 30amp pedestal since you have only noticed it at this site. This can be a serious problem with rain or bare feet or worse yet kneeling and touching the trailer frame while appliances are running in the trailer or not.

I agree, sounds like a bad ground. I would ask someone to check or request a different site.

I should add that my wife has not been shocked and was thinking it might be static electricity as I walk across the mat to the front door?

For what it is worth, I had that issue once. Was getting 10 to 18 volts with battery and shore power cord disconnected at a cg one time. After further research I determined the stray voltage was due to electrical energy transferring to the camper in the Form of static from nearby high voltage power transmission lines. It never happened again.
It is very iimportant that you confirm the energy you are feeling using a meter and confirm the source.

I assembled a metal shed under power lines once. Leaned against a wall and got a serious jolt across the more sensitive areas of my bare chest. Grounded the dam thing before I finished building it.

Not a bad idea to see where it is coming from. Better idea is something like a PI surge protector.

Get a meter if you don't have one (you really need one to be carried in the RV) and determine the source of the power and how much it is etc. Very easy to do and might save you or your wife from a possible serious injury. Electricity will find the easiest path to ground. If you happen to be it (barefoot in a puddle of water) it could give you a real jolt. Start at the plug - make sure each leg is doing what it's supposed to do (120v/grd) and go from there; won't take 5 minutes. As was mentioned, a good surge protector finds these things for you (ped/plug wiring issues).

At a park we have stayed at a number of times, we came back in a while back, into the same space we had been before, and found a different pedestal. I plugged in the Progressive protector, and the lights were not normal. Found out, the 'electrician' didn't know what he was doing, and failed to connect the neutral to the panel lug. I have also found situations where the hot and neutral are reversed, still gives you 120 volts across the hot and neutral, but energizes the wrong leg, which might be happening in your case. No matter how, you need to disconnect from that panel immediately until the problem is fixed.

have them check the the supply box

Open ground at pedestal. You should be using an EMS like progressive Industries or Surge guard. It would have told you you have a problem and cut the power to your rig. These devices can save you a lot of money by protecting all your electronic devices in the trailer. You never know what you are going to get when you plug in.

If I were you I would just let my wife open the door every time..... not really, find out what's wrong and fix it.

At my house, the first time "she who must be obeyed" got shocked, I'd be buying a new trailer (and you know what that means) along with being "in debt that no apology can repay" for years to come.....
