Getting underway
Leaving on our 3rd trip with the new Passport tomorrow. That's three trips in 30 days. Yes there just 2 dayers, but we are enjoying it. We take our dogs, but the cat stays home. If it wasn't for him we would be going longer. Guess we'll have to figure a way to get him used to the trailer life. I think were going to like this Travel Trailer thing.

It can be entirely too easy to escape from everyday life and go camp. We started with a long trip back in January of 2009 (DC to FL) and haven't looked back except to remember the good times.
I put together a spreadsheet the other day of our travels since then, we've done 10/7/15 (avg/low/high) trips, 32/25/40 nights, and 4400/3800/6400 miles per year. That usually includes a long-ish trip (1000-1800 mi RT) somewhere each year (e.g., Disney, Niagara Falls, Smoky Mountains). I mostly just included this because I was surprised at how much we were getting out and using our trailer once I saw it on the screen.
Quantity of trips, nights or miles doesn't really matter as long as you're out having a good time. You are, so mission successful.

We used to do several big trips fishing, hunting, or just camping each year. Now retired, I still work 2 days aweek. We do alot of 2-3 camping trips thru the whole year. Those are close to home but, still fun. Hot, cold, rain who cares we have a RV, and enjoy it.

That's great! We are going back to the rv park we were at two weeks ago for our second outing. We got the fireplace trimmed out and will be installing a new and bigger tv. Have fun!!

Were back safe. We wanted to get out of the cold Eureka,Ca wx for a couple of days. We found a KOA in Oroville Ca that had a pool and Hot tub still open. We got there , and at first we weren't sure about this place because it was just an RV park. I mean no camping or woods. We've never been to a real RV park. Ha Ha.
Anyway it turns out that this stay was great. Perfectly clean pull throughs, manicured grass, the bathrooms and shower's were the cleanest I've ever seen. No graffiti.
They have a dog playground, and also about two acres of wooded area that the dogs can run through. It was great.
The wx was nice and warm, and the Spa was welcomed after a hard days driving.
Leaving on Sunday we encountered high winds for over 100 miles. I mean tumble weeds blowing across the road hard wind. It was unreal. Not sure how high it was , but I'm guessing at least 30+ . We took one road that put the wind to our side for 30 miles. That really tested the sway control. It worked great. I maintained 55 mph.
Anyway it was fun, and if you want a nice place to stay, this is a good one. One more thing. It's right next to the Feather Falls Casino. We don't gamble, but they of course offered some decent meal prices which were tempting after a few adult beverages at camp, but we stuck to the plan and prepared what we brought. Free shuttle to the Casino also, but you can walk the 200 yards.

Hi Chief,
Glad you had a great trip. How do you like the 23RB? We just got ours in September, have been out a few times, and we just love it. I think it's the perfect TT for a couple, plus a dog or 2.

Chief MK, Thanks for the information we travel thru there on I-5 nearly each summer. Sounds like your truck and trailer match up great.

We love it. It is perfect for a couple. Of course we do have the children also. A 95 lb Chocolate lab, and a 5 lb Toy Fox Terrier. Quite the combo right?
We can't wait to head out soon. Gotta do a few more things to the house, before the wet season starts, then we can head out.
