Evergreen RV Closed today

Today was a sad day in Middlebury,In. Evergreen RV closed their doors and stopped production. At 12:00 every body left and the doors were locked.

I liked their RVs. Indications were that they were making "more" money, but apparently an investor with control pulled the plug. If you can't make it in the 2015/2016 RV market, it's kinda hard to believe.

I hear it's easy to pickup a job in Elkhart these days, so hopefully the workers won't be substantially impacted.

Based on our Montana HC factory tour last week, I think they are working 2 shifts. Turning out 12 HC's a week. Regular Montana's 18-20 a week.
So yes, workers should be able to hire on somewhere.
Dang, those Alfa Gold 5th wheels were everywhere not too long ago.

Well I have never read many positive reviews of their products. That has to make it hard to keep the doors open when you have lots of quality issues.

Looked at their website, they had some real nice looking rigs.
Wonder if the owners are now SOL or if they will still be able to get service.

Here's one report of what dealership employees are saying: http://www.elkharttruth.com/news/bus...of-rumors.html

"RV dealers around the country also have been hearing talk of EverGreen closing. Employees at a dealership in Alabama said they heard talk of EverGreen ceasing operations on Tuesday and were officially notified by the company on Friday. They said warranties for EverGreen products would be voided and spare parts would no longer be available.

Jared Farr, who works at a Michigan dealership, said if the company indeed is going out of business, he’s worried that customers who bought Evergreen RVs will be out of luck if their vehicle breaks down, since a defunct company would not be able to fulfill a warranty.
“If they go out of business, that voids that warranty,” Farr said.

Bob Biggs, who works at a Pierceton dealership, said EverGreen employees he knows told him this week they had been fired. When he picked up RV parts earlier this week, he said, employees at the parts facility told him they couldn’t comment on the rumors EverGreen was shutting down.

“You would think they would let their dealers know,” he said."

If they bought extended warranties from a third party, they should still be covered.

Hopefully the employees will be back to work soon with another manufacturer.

It would be interesting to see if someone else will pick up the brand. I would think the at least the factory would be picked up by another manufacturer since it's already set up to manufacture RVs.
