So Easy & Fun Even A Single Mom Can Do It!
I grew up camping and had the best memories. So, even though I got divorced I bought a pop up and my two boys and I went camping! That was 6 years ago! I sold the pop up and moved up to a hybrid and even with one boy in college and one in high school I still camp any chance I can! I now take my niece and nephew, too!
I have driven my camper from NC to PA to take the boys to Hershey Park in April, 2012 and this past June I drove to Ohio to take them to Cedar Park!!
I am thankful to my parents who gave me such awesome memories and still help me today and go camping with us! We have great stories and fun times!
GIRL POWER!

When I met my wife (in the Costco parking lot in Reno, NV) she had a big camper on a new, 1994 Dodge Cummins 4WD with Alaska plates. She had just driven down the AK Hwy on her way to Colorado. We were married in 1998. She has your spirit.

X2 on you go girl. Spending time with your kids and nieces / nephews, family out camping will give everyone involved lasting memories.
I give you huge credit for doing this as a single mom. This just shows that when we are motivated, anything can be accomplished.
keep up the great work and happy camping.
Mike

My parents were divorced also and my mom took all five of us kids camping all the time. Still remember all those trips. You are a good mom.

You are definitely living the good life with your kids. There's nothing like camping. Our 4 still remember all the adventures and still go with us in their campers with our grandchildren.

CampinNC,
You "summed it up" in the beginning of your first post: "I grew up camping and had the best memories" All of us who "grew up camping" have those memories and those of us that took our kids along have children who say the same thing.
There's something about being away from home, in the "wild" and relaxing with only the company of "family" to make memories that last a lifetime.
Oh, it works for grandparents who take their grandkids camping too.

Good for you! Our kids grew up camping, too.
Although I was not a single mom when we started out, I was the one who hauled the trailer over to the beach during the daytime so we could get a site. I would imagine there are fewer strange looks and snide remarks about a woman towing a trailer now than there were in the '70s. One park attendant told me to take a certain spot because he had "seen women try to back up trailers before". Said it was big enough to park a Mack truck. I waved at him cheerfully about 20 minutes later when I left after parking the trailer, leveling, setting the rest of camp and headed to the grocery store.

Thanks everyone!
MurphsMom -- I remember one time backing my camper into a tight spot and the people behind me said "nice job" and "just last week a guy hit the tree with his truck!"
