Jaboni Solar Prep.

I just watched a installation video of a Jaboni type solar unit. Seems very basic and lacking. Isn't there more that can be done? I am seeing guys with way more power and juice to be truly in a boondocking sense. Not looking for just boondocking, but just to be prepared for whatever comes our way in our travels. Seems a little short of what can be accomplished.

Solar power systems will depend on what a person needs and can afford. From a simple “suitcase” portable to a roof covered in panels. I have installed a single 120W panel and I have installed multiple panels along with an inverter/converter.

Once you decide your needs, and budget you can plan, install and enjoy your system.

I guess I was expecting more. I understand getting what you want and afford. But, the Jaboni system seems small. 2 batteries and a 30 amp controller? A couple of panels? For what they want for them, it just seems "not that much" to go by.

I don’t know. I don’t have solar, and don’t plan on installing it in my trailer so I haven’t looked. The dealership I used to work at swore by GoPower. The independent repair facility I now work for prefers renology. I don’t know if he uses their batteries since the discussion didn’t get that far. He said he had installed over 100 renology systems and hasn’t had a failure yet, didn’t say if it included renology batteries.
