Electric Fireplace not working

So we hooked up recently and everything is fine except for the electric fireplace/heater is not working at all. No flipped breakers or blown fuses. Replaced the battery in the remote and still nothing. Tried the on/off buttons on the face of the unit also and nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

This may seem trivial - but did it work at PDI? Do you think it could have come unplugged?

Have you identified the breaker and turned it fully off then back on? Sometimes a breaker can trip and it may not fully move the lever. Don't just trust a visual. With new breakers they can be a little stiff so don't be afraid to use some force to turn it off then back on.

Thanks. The rig is not new, it is a 2016 and I have owned it since new. It has worked for the last 4 years then nothing. I will try the breakers...

I did try the breakers to no avail. It seems dead. Any ideas?

Next step is pull it out and check the outlet. If the outlet has voltage then it's an issue with the fireplace.

I have read in the past that some have found a failed electric connection inside the unit. You may have to open some covers on it when you pull it out to check for that. I have also heard those with cats that they travel with create enough dander that it gets in the units and they have to blow them out with air to get them working again.

Thanks. No pets on board for us so it looks like I will be delving into the insides of the fireplace unit lol

On mine I have an innocent looking switch that looks like a regular household light switch. It switches between the Air Conditioner and the fireplace. They both use the same 30 AMP circuit breaker and this prevents accidental overloading of that circuit. Not saying this is how yours is wired but it is a possibility. My switch is brown and sits behind the TV. This has caught me out out more than once especially early and late season when temps are changing.

I checked and mine does not have such a switch. I couldn't be THAT easy for me lol. It is still dead, and the only thing that I can see is to pull the whole thing out and check it out, but I would not know what I am looking for. Any ideas?

I’ve gone through 2 fireplaces in 5 years. Did the same exact thing. 1st one under warranty, second one under extended warranty. Third was on me.

There are no replacement parts for these units...they are throw away once toast.

Now if you can pull it out and check for dirt or dust accumulation in the vents that’ll cause a shut down. Otherwise just under $300 to replace in my case.

I hope this helps.

Check the plug the fireplace is plugged into.... if it has 110... punt

Seriously check to see if there is a fuse but I doubt it.. next step.. replace the fireplace..

Yes it does help. Thats kind of what I figured, that they are throw away items. Actually I think I can do just as well with a couple of carefully used small ceramic space heaters....

Thanks. I gotta try checking it but it is most likely on the toast side. I wonder if I can pull it out and put shelves there?

The fireplaces aren't expensive at all, but if you're handy with woodworking tools I'm sure it can be done.

They are usually on a switch with the microwave. Check the listings on the breakers.

Betting the plug fell out of the receptacle.

This happened to me. From vibration the plug came out of the receptacle. Pulled the unit out only four screws and plugged back in Used tie wrap with hole to hole plug in place.

On another note many of these fireplaces are installed in a location that basically is a boxed in area and there is not enough venting to allow the fan to pull air across the heater element. This can lead to premature failure of the unit as the unit is starved for easy air flow looking to pull through minimal gaps. On mine I had a sound bar above the fireplace and was able to remove the sound bar and drill four 1 1/4 inch holes behind the sound bar location. The sound bar sat about an inch off its mounting so this allowed the heater to draw way more air across the heated. Increased flow and what a difference in the performance as the heated air coming out of the front of the heater was greatly increased and our trailer much warmer with the unit cycling on and off the thermostat more readily.

Electric fireplace

We own a 2013 Redwood and have had problems with ours over the years.
First, taking it out and blowing and vacuuming the dust out may help. Ours would run but not heat. It gets really dusty in a fifth wheel and this is a place where dust gets pulled in.
Second, because of the rough roads we also found that there became a loose connection in the wiring due to all the rough roads. This fixed it for good.

Best of luck on getting back to a normal run.

I have one in my house. Bulbs burned out in about 5 years. Might look at that

Do you have one or two of the fireplaces. We have 2, one in LR and one in MBR. They are interconnected, only one can be on at once hence only one breaker.
