Ramp Door Rebuild

2011 Raptor 300MP Ramp door started to get a little soft on one lower corner. Just wanted to post this as I could not find much on the InterWeb about rebuilding toy hauler ramps. I did find out that there are tons of guys with same problem but really no great ideas. This is what I did. Spend about $150 in 1/8 in Aluminum, one tube of marine adhesive and a few new bolts & nuts. I am going to paint this inside with Hurculiner bed liner for traction if it ever warms up and the snow goes away here in MN. I also put a piece of 1/8 in Alum. under the lower part of the hinges to raise them up, you can see in the pic. Hope this helps someone out. Happy camping!

It looks like, from your photos and your description, that all of your repairs are on the "outside" of the ramp ??? Did you do anything to address the deterioration/damage between the FILON (outside surface) and the actual ramp (inside surface) ?

I sandwiched 1/8 Alum on both sides

I did not do anything with the inside of the door as I do not know what to do with the Styrofoam and luan wood. I sandwiched both sides with 1/8 Aluminum that went up about 16 inches. I did go to the Alum. frame on the inside so that should strengthen the whole door. That whole rear area is taking water on. I also replaced both outside rear areas of the dovetail. Nobody can tell me where the water is coming from.

Keith, Keith, Keith, what kind of statement is this for someone who lives in Minnesota? "if it ever warms up and the snow goes away here in MN"
Having had a Raptor for five years, I suspect the moisture is coming from the roof and seeping down, through the door, and settling at the bottom. Maybe next summer you could invest a few bucks in an aluminum rain diverter, screwed over your door, to keep most of the water away. It worked good for us and our cargo trailer.

I watch the back out side hinges , aluminum trim for split sealant or cracks that will allow water into the ramp causing delaminates and rot . The same thing will happen if the door is warped and water runs down inside . Inspection while it’s raining and PMs will prevent the damage you have.
