Shopping for 2521rl

Hey folks! I’ve only been a camper owner for 2 years now. Started with a pop up in 2019, upgraded to a 23foot camper this year (2006 Shamrock 23rs) and we have decided on purchasing a 2521rl when the calendar flips to 2021. (Get my bonus then). Our tow vehicle is a 2016 Silverado 1500 4x4. 9200lb tow cap and 1860 payload cap. Would love to hear from owners of the 2521rl to hear what they love about it and anything that they wish they’d done differently! Stay safe folks and happy camping!!

We love ours, I have made a few mods, nothing major. I can answer any questions you have.

Awesome! The only mods we have decided on so far are installing an electric fireplace in the cabinet space under the TV and switching out the mattress to a residential one. What have you done? And how do feel about the counter space being partially blocked by the couch/theater seats?

We like the counter space, not many TT have this much. We use it for a toaster oven, Coffee maker and ice maker. Put a power strip behind them.

The fireplace would be nice. We didn't think about that.

We used a mattress topper for ours. I would have liked to have lift arms for under the mattress storage, it gets heavy to lift.

Here are our mods so far.

Roof vent covers on both roof vents this way we can leave the vents open when traveling and in storage to lower the temps.

A fantastic fan in the kitchen area roof vent, the stove fan doesn't vent to the outside, so we added the fan for cooking smells.

A smart TV in the living room with a sound bar under it and moved that TV into the bedroom with Roku on it.

In the shower we added a shade cover for the skylight, the sun gets very hot in there, because there isn't any AC or heat vents in the bathroom.

Added plexiglass to the bottom of the screen door to keep our pets from tearing up the screen, we have dogs.

Installed Level Mate Pro and use Anderson Leveling Blocks. You will thank me later...

Outside we added a cover for the electric jack, which has holders for the chains to keep them off the ground and a cover for the electric plug.

Other than some other little things, that's about it for now. Our next mod will be Slide Cover.

Let me know if there is anything else you have questions on. We haven't had it a year yet and will continue to upgrade things.

Glad to hear you're finding the counter space functional. I think of it the same way you do... good place for stuff that you may ordinarily have to keep putting away and pulling out everytime you need it.

Roof vents are a must! I'll be doing that

Didn't realize fan didn't vent outside... need that

The TV thing sounds great. We are planning on one for bedroom as well

The vent for shower is another awesome idea!

No dogs for us... yet.

Already own both the level mate pro AND anderson levelers. LOVE THEM!

Where'd you get that cover? sounds interesting.

Slide cover is something I've definitely thought about as well..

Lastly... I've been toying with the idea of upgrading to a porcelain toilet. Might be overkill.

That cover is amazing. Definitely getting that. Does the 2521rl have a walkable roof?

My 2020 model is not, however I heard that the 2021 models may be.

That's good to know. Mine was manufactured in August 2019. Just my luck...

2521rl

I also have 2020 2521rl. It is great camped about 25 nights this summer. So far we have had only 1 problem. The sliding bedroom door hinge came out. Easy to fix. The counter is great. Also use it for toaster coffee pot etc.

Put a remote control light switch on the first ceiling light in the bedroom. That is working out well. Slide topper next.

Gobird, Where did you get the power for the Fantastic fan in the kitchen. That is the I really wnat to do.

.
The only place close was the ceiling light, the only draw back was the ceiling lights need to be on for it to work.

For us we only use it for cooking, so the ceiling lights on is not a problem.

Thanks. That is where I was thinking of getting the power. Was it easy to pull wire in the ceiling?

Somewhat, when the ceiling vent is out and you drop the light the ceiling will drop a little and then there is enough room to pull wires. The light is only about 12 inches from the vent.
