frig freezing

Does anyone have a problem with food especially fruits and vegetable freezing in their frig. We have a 2018 (?) Keystone Bullet with a Domectic frig. There is a plastic thing that is suppose to "regulate" the temp but its not hooked up to anything and frankly I don't know how thats suppose to regulate the temp. I'm thinking the factory forgot a step in there along the way.

That "thing" is called a thermistor and if not connected it could turn your whole Dometic refrigerator into a freezer. I am sure one of our tech oriented folks will help you connect yours and place it in the appropriate position on a fin in your fridge.

There should be a plastic clip that slides up and down the last fin on the right. In that clip should be a wire with a sensor on the end. The higher up, the colder it gets. That being said, with RV refrigerators you have to employ zone philosophy when placing items inside. The lower the item and the less air flow around it will cause freezing and also the closer to the fins the more likely you will get freezing.

I have no wire sensor connected to the thermistor. Do you think the factory forgot to do it?

Are you sure you don’t have that white “bulb” in the fridge section? What model is your fridge?

The thermistor is the end of the wire. That white plastic clip just holds the wire/thermistor. If your fridge looks like what I posted, then you need to find that wire. If the end is someplace warm, it would explain the freezing issue since it “thinks” it is too warm and is trying to cool it down.

Frig freezing

To all those that replied to my post regarding my frig freezing up I just want to say "thank you". Great and helpful hints everyone. I did find that cable and hooked up the thermister to it. We'll see how it works this weekend. I can't believe that I overlooked that thing. My husband and I are thinking that maybe it got disconnected while in transport and we just never noticed it in the back of the frig. Duh. Saved us an embarassing trip to the dealers.

Thanks again everyone!!! Happy Trails
